O Kun de Kun Falls is in the Ottawa National Forest, Ontanagon County, Stannard Township, Michigan. This is the upper falls. After hiking the wet and soggy trail we thought we had reached the falls when we got here. It was only after we got back that we discovered that the actual falls are just a little further downstream.
The source is the Baltimore River. The trail head to the falls is located on the east side of US 45 about 8 miles north of Bruce Crossing. There are signs for the parking area. The trail to the falls is part of the North Country Trail. It is a 1.3 mile fairly level hike to the falls. If you make this hike near the end of May like we did, keep in mind that this is the peak of "tick season" and a thorough bodily inspection is recommended upon returning to the parking lot.
